Charles R. "Chuck" HOWARD,
age 68 of Hamilton, passed away Friday, December 11, 2009
at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born
January 7, 1941 in Hazard, KY, the son of Dewey and Mabel (Wells)
Howard. On April 16, 1977 Chuck married Maria Lucas in
Hamilton. Other than his family, Chuck enjoyed fishing with his
friends and children. His memberships included: Founder/President of
West Side Bass Club since 1991; Chairman of Hamilton Optimist Youth
Ranch (Kids and MRDD Fishing Derby); 4-time Past President of
Hamilton Optimist Youth Ranch and Tournament Director of DMT (Dixie
Marine Tournament); and Fairfield Community Church. Chuck's simple,
yet compassionate nature will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Maria Howard; children, Dennis
Howard, Deonna (David) Pruitt, Bryan (Beth) Howard, and Jeff Messer;
brother, Wilmer (Malvery) Howard; sister, Lorene (Robert) Day; and
grandchildren, Evan Pruitt, Josh Pruitt, Kelsey Messer, Weston
Pruitt, and Madeline McGowan. Chuck was preceded in death by his
parents; and brothers, Elmer and Mark Howard. A special thanks to
Chuck's sister, Lorene and brother, Wilmer for all of their help.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the
Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield with
Pastor Richard Sterwerf officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation
will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be

Ollie G. HOWARD,
age 85 of Trenton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on
Saturday February 27, 2010. He was
born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on January 5, 1925 the son of
Silas and Lizziebelle (Vance) Howard. Ollie was an Army
veteran of WW II. He was employed as a tool and dye maker at Fisher
Body for 32 years retiring in 1980. Ollie was a life member of VFW
Post 7670 and a Patriot member of the NRA. On June 11, 1980 in
Hamilton he married Jeanette (Gabbard) Vaughn. He is survived by his
wife, Jeanette Howard of Trenton; his children, Randy (Scarlet)
Vaughn of Trenton, Kathy Joy (Charles) Purvis of Franklin, and
Virginia (Tommy) Parker of Anville, Kentucky; six grandchildren and
ten great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Dan Paul; and a niece
Donna Irvin. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers,
McCain, Hubert, Woodrow, Chad, Dennis, and Blackburn Howard; and
four sisters, Jewell Carpenter, Zuma Finn, Freda Master, and Merle
Paul. Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home,
330 Pershing Ave., on Thursday March 4th , at 1:00PM with Rev.
Charles Purvis his son-in-law, and Pastor Kenny Brewer officiating.
Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will
be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 noon to 1:00 PM. In
lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
Ollie's family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hospice
of Hamilton their love and care.
