Fred
ISAACS, of Hamilton, Ohio, went to be with his Savior on December 14, 2009 following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 18, 1930 in Red Lick, Kentucky to parents Charles and Gracie (Lainhart) Isaacs. Fred married his lifetime sweetheart Patricia Eyvone Hufford in Covington, Kentucky on August 31, 1947, and she preceeded him to the Lord on September 7, 2008. Fred attended school in Red Lick, Kentucky and Hamilton, Ohio and he was an active member and volunteer of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton for many years. Fred was employed by the Wright Bernett Brush Company in Hamilton for 43 years, retiring as Plant Supervisor in August of 1986. He was the founder and operator, with wife Eyvone, of the City Shoe Repair in Hamilton for many years. He also was actively engaged in the investment property market in Hamilton for many years and distinguished himself as a successful and caring property owner. Fred and Eyvone spent their retirement years serving others as volunteers for Meals On Wheels and driving shut-ins and children to church. They reveled in their camping and travels, and in sharing their experiences with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and close friends. They spent many summers camping at Hueston Woods and relaxing on their beloved pontoon boat, "Happiness Is...". They wintered many years in Ft. Myers and Venice, Florida and they camped many springs and falls in Pigeon Forge. They were rarely separated and he was a role model of the loving devoted husband. Fred was an incredible care-giver during Eyvone's extended illness. Together, they raised five children: Fred, Jr. (Carol), Jane (Joe), David (Angela), Barb (Bob) and Tom (Pam); the doting grandparents to 16 grandchildren and great grandparents to 8. Fred was 1 of 4 children, and is survived by his younger sister Elizabeth (Schmitz), as well as numerous step siblings, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff at Pavillion and Sunrise for their caring during Mom's and Dad's illnesses. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hamilton,1501 Pyramid Hill Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Mr. Jack Young, Dr. Dennis Metzger and Rev. William Brantingham will officiate at the funeral service. Internment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Avance Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences: avancefuneralhome.com. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made the Hueston Woods State Park Nature Center, Oxford, Ohio 45056.
