Regas Marianos FRANKLIN -- Regas Marianos, 83, of Gribble Drive Franklin, passed away Monday, April 23, 2001, at Friendly Nursing Home in Germantown. He was born Sept. 22, 1917, in Middletown, the son of Tom and Idella (Jordan) Marianos. He was a 1935 Franklin High School graduate and on the basketball team that defeated the Waterloo Wonders. He was also inducted in the Franklin High School Hall of Fame in 1999. Mr. Marianos was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946, and was discharged as a captain. He was employed by AK Steel for 31 years, retiring in 1977 and was a member of the Meadowlark Sams Camping Club, Deardoff Senior Citizen Center and Franklin Jaycees. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Betty in 1999 and brothers James and George. He is survived by his son, Kenneth A. Marianos and wife, Candy of Camden; a sister, Elizabeth Tracy of Sacramento, Calif.; and five great-grandchildren. ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Eaton-Anderson & Unglesby Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, South Main and West Third streets, Franklin 45005. |

Marianos of West Sacramento, James T. Marianos of Pennsyivania and Regas T. Marianos of Ohio. Leaves 7 grandchildren. A native of Greece, aged 83 years. Friends are welcome at the LAND PARK CHAPEL OF HARRY A.
