Charles E. ONEY, age 65 of Middletown, Ohio passed away
Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Dayton Heart Hospital. He was
born December 9, 1940 in Hardburly, Kentucky to Enard Oney and
Vera Oney. Charles was a cane operator for 35 years at Magnode
Corp. retiring in 1998. He was a member of Poasttown First
Church of God. Member of Knights of Pythias Lodge #37 where he
was secretary, trustee and past chancellor and received the
Golden Spur Award; member of D.O.K.K.-Amrita #122 where he was
secretary; Lafayette Temple #379 where he received the highest
honor; Butler County CB Club and Community Radio Watch. He
served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963. Charles was
preceded in death by his father; step-father, Walter Gamble;
son, Timothy Wright and grandson, Joshua James Wright. He is
survived by his wife of 29 years, Edna Oney; mother, Vera
Gamble; children, Charles (Brenda) Oney of Peebles, OH, Tim
(Pam) Oney of Inverness, FL, Randy (Kelli) Oney of Middletown,
OH, James (Shelly) Wright of Middletown, OH, Donna (Kerry)
Workman of Middletown, OH and Rhonda (Tim) Carberry of
Middletown, OH; sisters, Joyce (Burley) Edwards of Fairborn,
Lettie Hamm of Sacramento, CA, Debbie (James) Hill of Dayton;
brother, Jim (Tracy) Gamble of Huber Heights; grandchildren,
David, Amber and Pete Oney, David and Tina Hampton, Amanda and
Melinda Smith, Andrea McKinney, Jason and Rick Yeager, Makayla,
Makenzie, and Makaitlyn Oney, James Wright, Jeff Tutt, Timothy
Wright, Tammy Merrick, Alicia Noris, Mary Stanley, Shea Cole,
Amanda Fugate, Christopher and Kevin Carberry; 29 great
grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 18, 2006 from
5:00 to 8:00 pm at Baker-Stevens Funeral Home. Services will be
Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Poasttown First
Church of God with Rev. Randy Wallace officiating. Interment
will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military rites by
the American Legion Post #218 Honor Guard. Baker-Stevens Funeral
Home is serving the family.
