1911 Tuesday Middletown News-Signal, Middletown, Ohio MISS ELIZA TAYLOR At quarter past nine last night, Miss Eliza Taylor passed peacefully away to the great beyond after an illness of about three months. She had been in failing health for a year or more but kept active and about, until within the last few weeks. She was born in Newark, N. J., November 1, 1837, and she was in her seventy-fourth year. Her life has been spent mostly in this city and has been a life of helpfulness and kindness in ministering to others. She was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist church for fifty-five years and was always interested in its welfare. She will be missed by a large circle of friends who loved her for her kindly, patient spirit. The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of her nephew F. A. Jones, 530 Yankee road. January 25, 1911 Wednesday Middletown News-Signal, Middletown, Ohio FUNERAL SERVICES The funeral services for Miss Eliza Taylor will be held at the home of Frank A. Jones No. 530 Yankee road Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock and she will be laid to rest in the Middletown cemetery beside her mother and brother. Rev. W. B. Holt, of Troy, O., will have charge of the services. |

Middletown News-Signal, Middletown, Ohio Morris Taylor Dead Morris Taylor, the large colored man, who was well known about this city, died this morning at his home on North Canal street after an illness extending over two months. Dropsy was the cause of death. He was 47 years old and leaves a wife Mrs. Lorena Taylor on North Canal street, and his mother in Cincinnati. No arrangements as yet made for his funeral. vcm: Morris Taylor was buried March 22, 1910 at Woodside Cemetery. |
