Donald W. Bloom
Donald W. Bloom, 89, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011 at the
Clermont Mercy Care Center in Milford.
He was born Dec. 21, 1921 in Sugar Tree Ridge, the son of the late
Ernest and Bessie (Tice) Bloom.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elwood,
Denver, Virgil and Gleason Bloom; and one sister, Mildred Davis.
He was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, lifelong farmer,
New Market Township trustee for 22 years, and served on the Highland
District Hospital board and Community Action. He retired after 20 years
at Irvin Auger Bit in Wilmington.
He is survived by his wife, [omitted] two daughters and
sons-in-law, [omitted]; two stepdaughters and a
stepson-in-law, [omitted]; four stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law,
[omitted]; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10
stepgrandchildren; and 13 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 at the
Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial
will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
