Dorothy E. Chaney Dorothy E. Chaney, 74, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at her residence. She was born Aug. 7, 1933 in Hillsboro, the daughter of the late Samuel and Luella Arledge Williamson. She was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by six grandchildren,   Richard Allen Lee of Hillsboro  [other survivors omitted.] In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Chaney on March 18, 1996; one son, David Ellis Chaney; one great-grandson, Patrick Lee; one stepdaughter, Sandra J. Gass; and two brothers, Russell and Harry Williamson. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Wiley B. Perkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
