John Marion Harris, 82, of 158 East Walnut Street, city, died Monday about 7:45 P. M. at Kelley Hale Hospital were he had been confined for four days.
 
He was retired school teacher. He had taught in Highland and Clinton Counties for many years. He was born in Highland County on March 29, 1878, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Oliver Harris.
 
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2 P. M. at the Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Montgomery officiating and burial following in New Market Baptist Church Cemetery.
 
Only close survivor is one brother, Wilber Harris, Hillsboro, Other survivors include six nephews, H. E. (Ernie) Harris, James, Maynard and Thomas Harris, all of Wilmington, Elwood Harris of Hillsboro, and Ray of New Vienna; and one nieces Mrs. Mary Brookbank, Columbus.
