October 3, 1967 Hillsboro, Ohio A Highland County man died at Bethesda Hospital, Cincinnati, Saturday about 8:30 P. M., nearly nine hours after he was involved in a minor highway accident in this area. Frank Bruce Trouts, 70, Hillsboro Rt. 7, was admitted to Highland District Hospital following the accident at 11:45 A. M. Saturday, and then transferred to Bethesda about 5 P.M. that day. He did not seem seriously injured since he walked to the ambulance and was also up and around at the hospital. The accident occurred in U. S. Rt. 62 about two miles south to Hillsboro. He was driving a 1961 Ford. He told Deputy Sheriff Dick Ausmun that he apparently black out at the wheel of the car. The vehicle went into a ditch on the right side of the road and traveled about 350 feet, breaking off one wooden fence post on the farm of Carrie DuErmit, Hillsboro, Rt. 7. He was brought to the hospital in the Turner ambulance. He had no apparent injuries and was on the verge of being released when he became sick and was confined. The office of Dr. Frank Cleveland, Hamilton County coroner, said Sunday night that results of an autopsy would not be available for several days. All indications point to a heart attack, however, but the coroner declined an official ruling until later. Trouts was born at Cincinnati on Oct. 3, 1896, the son of Frank Trout and Gussie Hart Trouts. He resided in this area for many years and was a sign painter. He was a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Camp, Wilmington; one son, James Trouts, Cincinnati; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M. at the Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Leslie Shultz officiating and burial following in New Market Cemetery. Friends may call at 3 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. |
