Researching Martin ARMSTRONG b 1784 PA d 30 Dec 1864  m Elizabeth ATCHISON Jul 1812 in Ohio.  Martin then went off to fight in War of 1812.  In 1830 they were living in Columbiana Co, OH until 1850, then in Vermillion Co Inc. then in 1856 in Dallas Co, Iowa where they are buried.   Elizabeth applied for the pension and The Declaration of Widow Pension from the War of 1812 states they were married in Rafs???Co Ohio in Jul 1812.   It is very very hard to read the name of the county, but is does look like Rafs or Rofs, do you have any idea where in Ohio this could be.  The pension paper goes on to say that Martin was Capt.  July 27 1813  ( possibly Second Brigade, Second Division) and honorably discharged at Chilicathe  date not given.  I have much infor to share does anyone have any connections?

I am researching the BARNHILL and MCCURDY families who came Ohio from Pennsylvania about 1819. There is a William BARNHILL who died in Columbiana County, Ohio in 1845. I am looking for researchers who may be descendants of William. My line descended from Gabriel BARNHILL and his son Joseph. I am trying to establish whether the William from Columbiana County is the brother of Gabriel. Gabriel and William BARNHILL of Mifflin County PA married MCCURDY sisters, Nancy and Margaret.
