This is to update the query I posted in January 1998. Laura LEE (dob Sep. 4, 1856) married Andrew J. BOWLES, a barber and hairdresser, (dob. 1852, VA or KY)in Hancock Co WV on May 13, 1875. There first son George W. BOWLES was born in Hancock Co. May 11, 1876. Their second child Martha BOWLES was born in Hancock Co. on March 12, 1878. George BOWLES' birth certificate indicates that Laura LEE was born in Columbiana Co. OH. Laura LEE BOWLES and her husband Andrew J. BOWLES moved to Salineville, Columbiana Co. OH in around 1880 where they had two other children - Walter Loran BOWLES, my maternal grandfather, (dob Feb. 29, 1880) and Andrew O. BOWLES (dob. May 22, 1882). The 1880 census OH, records Laura LEE to have been born in VA.Laura LEE BOWLES death certificate indicates that she died in Columbiana Co. OH on March 8, 1884 of heart failure due to hemhorrage. After Laura died Andrew placed all four children in the Fairmount Children's Home in Alliance , OH Children's Home in Alliance OH. I am interested in any leads to other persons who find they are connected to my LEES and BOWLES.

MEAD, MEADE - Searching for family information, newspaper articles, obituaries and old photographs of the descendants of Heman Deloss and Sarah A. Reed MEAD, Sr. They were married in Belmont County, Ohio in 1842. From Belmont County, Ohio they moved to Springfield Township, Mahoning County, Ohio (1850), to Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio (abt. 1860 - 1890),to Limaville, Stark County, Ohio and ended up in North Georgetown, Columbiana County,Ohio. Heman served with the OVI, Regement # 104, Company C and owned & operated a Harness Shop in Unity and then in East Palestine, Ohio. Obituary of Hannah A. GROOMS, died August 22, 1937, Dravosburg. Allegheny County, Pa states that a son Jabez H. GROOMS lived in Salem, Ohio at that time. Jabez was born in Dravosburg, Pa. February 15, 1891. It is believed that Jabez moved to Ohio about 1920 where he farmed. Need info on Jabez and family. Will share what I have.
