Looking for anyone who can connect with the John MARSHALL and Abraham J. Dick families of Salem, OH. John, b. 14 Nov 1811 PA, married Keziah P(ritchard?) CRAIN on 11 Jan 1838, probably in Salem. Keziah, b. 19 Jan 1816 OH, was daughter of John & Tabitha (PRITCHARD) CRAIN. She died 16 May 1860 and is mentioned in Pape Hise's diary as "John Marshall's wife." Children to John & Keziah were Phoebe (1838/39), Nancy (1839/40), Johnson (1842), Elizabeth J. (22 Dec 1845), James M. (1847/48), & Mary W.[Emma?] (1853/54). John died 11 Dec 1880. Death record indicates he was a stone mason, resided in Salem, and was married at time of death. His second wife was possibly an Elizabeth (MARSHALL), b. abt 1814, or a Louisa THOMPSON [there's some confusion in records at the Lisbon courthouse as to whether this John's middle initial was B or M]. Son Johnson MARSHALL's family plot, at Grandview Cem, contains these headstone inscriptions -- Agnes Belle, 1848-1934; Johnson, 1842-1900; Harry H, 1871-1899; & Minnie L GROVE (MARSHALL), 1867/9-1907. Presumably Harry & Minnie were two of John MARSHALL's grandchildren. John & Keziah's daughter Elizabeth J. MARSHALL married Abraham J. DICK of Salem in 1868. Abraham had served with the 13th Ohio volunteers in the Civil War and was a carpenter turned patternmaker by trade. Elizabeth J. died in 1892. Abraham remained in Salem until at least 1911/12 and never remarried. He passed away at his son's Indianapolis home in 1924 at age 85. Abraham & Elizabeth are buried together at Grandview Cem very near the family plot of Elizabeth's brother Johnson. Would like to locate where John & Keziah are buried, who John's parents were, and any other information regarding the persons mentioned above.
