My grandfaher John TORDOFF, a rairoad machinist, and his wife Margaret, lived in Galion from the early 1870's until 1880 or 1881. I would like to know the name of the Township in which Galion is located. And, If any one knows the names of the railroads that had maintenance shops in Galion at that time, that information would also be much apptrciated. Thank you.

My Grandfather was Sidney HOSFORD (1874-1922) from Gallion, Crawford County, Ohio. He married Catherine KOHLER (1880-1959). They had 11 children. I am Beginning to compile info for a family history but, do not have any information on my ancestors prior to Sidney HOSFORD or Catherine KOHLER, or their siblings. I am researching the HOTELLING family. Christian, George, and families were listed on the 1850 Holmes Twp., Crawford Co. census but under the name HOTEL. Christian's wife was Lydia who died August 13,1876 and is buried in Benton Cemetary, Texas Twp., Crawford Co. I believe that Christian and Lydia were George's parents but have not been able to confirm. If anyone has information on this family or their descendants I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks!

We are looking for any information on Melissa M. A. COOPER who lived in Crawford Co.in 1862. She married Louis Augustus MCELDOWNEY in Erie MI Aug.12, 1862 and moved back to OH while her husband served in the Civil War. Do you know if there is a reference to this gentleman or in Family in early Crawford County History. Am seeking information on two brothers=Samuel and Solomon HESS that would have been born abt 1785-95. don't know state of birth but a descendant of Solomon was living near a Daniel HESS in Oregon in 1850's.
