SAUSSELE, SAUSSLER, SCHAFER, WALKER posted by Nancy Burbank on Sunday, June 3, 2001
Am searching for info re the family from which my great-grandfather, Charles Walker (possible middle initial "A"), descended. He was born on 9 July 1852 in Stuttgart, Wuerttemberg, Germany; emigrated from Germany to U.S. in 1866; married Caroline Sophia Saussele ("Saussler" is the Americanized spelling) in Cuyahoga Co, OH, on 3 Nov 1874. The couple settled in Cleveland; raised 2 sons, Charles Christian Walker and Henry A. Walker; a third son, Eddie, died in infancy. My great-grandfather Charles died on 8 Oct 1919 in Cleveland and was buried in Cleveland's Monroe Cemetery. Am particularly interested in learning anything about his parents and any siblings he might have had. His mother's maiden name could have been "Schafer". Charles was somehow related to a Christian E. Schafer and a John E. Schafer, but I haven't yet determined the relationships.

APPLEBY, BROWN, WOOD posted by Mary on Wednesday, June 6, 2001
I am looking for information regarding Mary E. BROWN who was the mother of Anna B. WOOD. Anna was born on July 4, 1859 or 1860 in Cleveland Ohio. Anna came to Omaha, Nebraska in 1862. Anna married Thomas APPLEBY in 1878 in Nebraska. Anna is buried in the Elk City, Nebraska cemetery. I am currently seeking information to verify Anna's birth year. I am not sure who her father was or if her parents were married at the time of her birth. It appears that Anna possibly came to Nebraska without her parents. Anna lived with the Parmelee family here in Nebraska. If you have any information regarding these individuals, please contact me. We are wanting to erect a marker for Anna's grave, but want to verify her birth year.

CONLEY, FLICK, WILLIAMS posted by Phyllis on Wednesday, June 13, 2001
My gr-gr-grandfather, William E Williams, from Wales, had four daughters who were all born in PA. Their names are Phoebe, Hannah, Sallie, and Esther. He also had two sons, William Edward Williams, and Seth Asa Williams, who was my gr-grandfather. One of the daughters married William Flick and a sister married a man with the surname Conley (given name unknown); they both lived in Lakewood and Cleveland, OH. Esther Williams is one of the sisters, but it is unknown if she married William Flick or Mr. Conley. Esther is also known to have written children's books. I am trying to find out who Esther married and which sister married Conley. In one obituary for my gr-grandfather Seth, in 1936, the sister who married Conley is called Mrs. N. Conley and in another obituary, she is called Mrs. C. Conley. Esther was born between 1872-1873; Sallie, between 1865-1866; Hannah, between 1858-1859; and Phoebe, between 1859-1860. The name of my gr-gr-grandmother(their mother)was Caroline, from Saxony, and she is believed to have come to live with one of her daughters in OH after William E died.
