I am searching for my father's birth mother who gave up custody to his father approximately in 1945+/- to his father, JOHN THOSS of Cleveland. My g-grandfather, JOHN D THOSS owned THOSS FLORIST in 125th & Euclid in Cleveland. Her name was ESTHER HELEN ARNDT who's 3rd marriage was to FRANK ANDRLE in Cleveland. Esther died in 1976 from cancer in Parma and had lived in Garfield Heights. Her parents were CARL F ARNDT and MARTHA LASCH/LASCHINSKY. She had 2 brothers Robert (died in WWII) and Wilbur of Dayton and a sister Ruth KOGUT who married John KOGUT Sr. in Cleveland after 1959. ANY INFORMATION would be helpful.

STEPHAN, TURNER posted by Donna Pauly on Tuesday, July 23, 2002
I am searching for information about I. N. Turner from Cleveland, OH. I believe there is a connection between him (?) and some of my family members who lived there in the late 1800s. The only thing I know is from a newspaper death notice in 1890 which states that "Kate Stephan's body was returned from Minneapolis to the home of I. N. Turner". Kate is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Cleveland, Oh. She died in 1890 in Minneapolis, MN. Her family had lived in Cleveland for many years. Others in the family are her father, Daniel Stephan, sister, Susan Stephan, brother, Dr. Henry Stephan (who died young), and many other Stephan 1/2 brothers and sisters. I would be interested in knowing what the connection is between the Stephans and this I. N. Turner. Thank you.

My mother-in-law told me that her grandmother died on the poor farm in Warrensville, Ohio. I have been looking at the 1920 and 1930 census. I find the city farm there but not the poor farm. Does anyone know about where the poor farm was located?
