Search the Cleveland Necrology
A necrology is a listing of people who have died, especially in the recent past or during a specific period. This database was produced from a microfilmed copy of an alphabetical card file containing local cemetery records and newspaper death notices gathered by the staff of the Cleveland Public Library. The newspaper source material consists of paid notices which were published in the following newspapers: Cleveland Plain Dealer, 1850-1975, the Cleveland Herald, 1833, 1847-1848, 1876, 1878-1879 and the Cleveland Press, August 16, 1941 - 1975. This database indexes Death Certificates of persons that died in Ohio from 1913 to 1944. Using the index information, a researcher can later obtain a copy of the certificate itself. More precise searching is now available using the Advanced Search that allows searching by certificate number, volume number and exact date of death.

Cuyahoga County Probate Court Historical Marriage Index With the Marriage Index you can view Bride and Groom names from 1810 through April 1998. You can perform a search using one of the following: bride's first and maiden names; groom's first and last names; bride's first name with groom's last name; and other variations. Marriage License records from 6 April 1998 to the present are provided in the Search Docket and Index system using Marriage License as the case type.
