The left-most column in the 1840 census was titled Names of County, City, Ward, Town, Township, Parish, Precinct, Hundred, or District. This column has been omitted since this is only the Wayne Township portion of the census. The "Remarks" column and the "Line" number column do not appear in the original census. NB: This census reported no African-Americans in Wayne township, so I omitted those and other zero sum columns.
