FRANK SPIRES DIES AT DOVER
Hicksville Man Stricken by Appendicitis Working at Freeport
HIcksville, Aug 15. -- Frank Spires, 51, who was stricken while handling
cement for the W. L. Johnson Construction company of Hicksville at
Freeport, Ohio, died at 430 a.m. today in a hospital at Dover where he
underwent an operation for appendicitis ten days ago.
Mr. Spires had been a resident of Hichsville and vicinity practically
all of his life.
Hosack's ambulance is expected to arrive here tonight with the body.
Funeral arrangements have been deferred until that time.
Mr. Spires is survived by his widow; three daughtes, Misses Glendolyn,
Lena and Esther, all of Hicksville; three brothers, John Spires, Angola,
IN; Joseph, Farmr, and Michael, Fostoria; and five sisters, Mrs. Ivan
Lantz, Mrs. Michael Huber, Mrs. George Wonderly, Mrs. Court Schooley and
Mrs. Rudolph Koerner, all of this vicinity.

MAE Spires, 61, TAKEN BY DEATH
Hicksville, April 14 - Mrs. Mae Spires, 61, widow of Fank Spires died
early today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Walters, 300 East
Cornelia Street, following an extended illness with complications. She had
been bedfast six months.
She ws born June 8, 1882, in Hicksville, daughter of Amos and Sarah
Diehl Rupp, and spent her entire life here. Mr. Spires died Aug. 15, 1930.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Freda Ferguson and Mrs. Lena
Hinschlager, Auburn, Mrs. Glendolene Ginder, Butler, and Mrs. Esther
Walters, Hicksville; three brothers, Forest Rupp, Fort Wayne, Rene, Lima;
and Ertis, Chicago, and nine grandchildren.
Body is at Perkins and Reeb funeral home where rites will be held at 4
p.m. Sunday. Rev. Walter H. Reitz will officiate. Burial will be in
Forest Home.
