These are shortened obits of the children of Lewis and Catherine Kuszmaul RoehrigEMMA BRUNNER Dec 7 1924 Emma wife of Warren died at her home in Delaware Twp. Defiance Co Ohio. Church services held at Oak Grove Chuch on the Hicksvill Pike and burial at Brunersburg Cemetery. She leaves five children, Mrs Charles Beindorf, Highland Twp, Mrs William Corwin, Richland Twp, Warren Bruner Jr Toldod, and Charles Bruner and Miss Pearl Bruner at home. Seven brother and four sister are surviving John Roehrig, William, James and Elmer all of Defiance, Amos of Brookville, and Lyman of Malinta. Albert Roehrig who had not been located, sisters are Mrs Mary Lang Delaware Twp, Mrs Ada Leaders, Mrs Estella (George) Gibler, both of Defiance and Mrs Lulu Speiser also of Delaware Twp.
WILLIAM M ROEHRIG April 4 1934. Mr Roehrig has been associated with the grain company here since he was 21 years old. He was with his father the late Lewis Roehrig until his death in 1917. Then he formed a partnership with SL Gruner of Defiance which continued until 1930. Williams was born in Defiance Co on July 9 1882, he married on Dec 13 1905 to Rose Mack who died July 1 1926. On May 23 1929 he married Jane Steward of Leipsic who survives him. He leaves also two sons Everett and Roberts at home a daughter Miss D'Nelle at home a stepson Donald Steward at home. Five brothers Amos of Brookville, James of Defiance, Lyman near Defiance, John Defaince and A.W. of Defiance. Three sisters Mrs C.F. Leaders Defiance, Mrs William Lang and Mrs Charles Speiser both of Delaware Twp. A brother Elmer Roehrig died last summer. ( A.W. would have been Albert William, also living was Estella Gibler)
JOHN F ROEHRIG Sept 29 1942 Defiance Timber Man Falls after Loading Wood with Customer Burial was at Riverside Cemetery Defiance Ohio. John was born Defiance Co on July 1 1871. He was always a timberman and had sold stove wood during the last 15 years. He leaves four sones Lester, Clayton, Olin and Arthur all of Defiance, Three daughters Lelah Hadder Fort Deposit, Ethel Hoover and Mabel Moorhead of Defiance. He is survived also by four brothers Albert Oakwood, Lyman Defiance Twp, Amos Brookville, and James Defiance thre sisters Mrs Charles Speiser, Mrs William Lang and Mrs Ada Leaders. His wife Clara (Slough) died in 1928 and a daughter Hazel in 1903
ELMER ROEHRIG June 25 1933 Elmer Roehrig Dies of Heart Attack Fighting Fire Caused by Bolt. Elmer 43 a cement contractor, burial at Brunersburg cemetery Defiance Co. Elmer was born Oct 3 1889 in Noble Twp. and married Oct 11 1916 to Miss Elizabeth Lourash a daughter of Mr and Mrs William Lourash. Surviving are the wife, two daughter Misses Marie and Dorothy Roehrig. Six brothers John, Albert, William, Lyman, James and Amos. Four sisters Mrs Charles Speiser Mrs William Lang Mrs C.F. Leaders and Mrs George Gibler
MARY LANG Nov 8 1944 Mary Lang wife of William H Lang died. Mrs Lang was born in Noble twp on Oct 4 1874 and is survived by William H Lang Husband, two sons Glen and Richard of Defiance, two daughters Mrs Frieda Erman Defiance and Mrs Delta Geren West Millgrove Ohio. Three brothers Albert, Amos, Lyman and two sisters Mrs Lula Speiser and Mrs Ada Leaders. A son, three sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
JAMES ROEHRIG March 28 1944 Man Falls Near Rail Track While Walking to Store. James Jacob lived with his nephew Everett and workded at Farmers Grain Co burial Riverside Cemetery Defiance Ohio. He leaves three brothers Albert, Amos, Lyman and three sisters Mrs Lang, Mrs Speiser, Mrs Leaders. He was born Jan 13 1885.
ALBERT W. ROEHRIG Oct 6 1945 Manager of the elevator at Oakwood and former proprietor of Roehrig Feed Store Defiance. He leaves his wife the former Effie L Fredrick to whom he was married at Liberty Center on July 21 1904, two sons Elmer L. and Chester W. Defiance two daughters Mrs Edna M Slocum Defiance, and Mrs Velma Miller Oakwood. Two brothers Amos and Lyman and two sisters Mrs Lulu Spiser and Mrs Ada Leaders.
ADA LEADERS April 14 1958 Ada A Leaders widow of Cornelius Leaders burial at Burnersburgs Cemetery. Susvived by three daughters Mrs Carrie Mills, Mrs Carl (Thelma) Fessel both Defiance, and Mrs Dallas (Jeanette) Gisler Holgate, Two brothers Amos and Lyman. She was preceded in death by her hasband on SEpt 23 1934 two daughters Leoda and Ellen and two sons Harmon and Blaked. Five brothers Elmer, John, William, James and Albert, and five sisters Mrs Emma Brunner, Mrs Mary Lang, Mrs Susan Slough, Mrs Estella Gibler, and Mrs Lulu Speiser. Mrs Leaders was born May 14 1880 and married to Mr Leaders on Sept 27 1901
ELIZABETH SUSANNAH SLOUGH Sept 24 1910 Elizabeth Susannah was born in Noble Twp Aug. 6 1870 she married March 4 1893 to William Slough. Besides her husband , she is survived by four children Raymond, Hobert, Grace, and Donald. Her father and mother are both surviving and five sisters and seven brothers. Mrs Emma Bruner, Mrs Mary Lang, Mrs Lulu Speiser, Mrs Ada Leaders, Miss Estella Roehrig at home. Albert, John, William, Amos, James, Lyman and Elmer.
LYMAN N. ROEHRIG Dec 21 1961 a veteran of WW1 was born Nov 27 1887 in Noble Twp was the last to survive of the 13 children of Lewis and Ellen (Kuszmaul) Roehrig. He leaves three sons Lyman Jr Continental, Jesse Hicksville, and James Defiance. Three daughters Mrs Roger (Helen) Moor, Mrs Glen (Thelma) Carnaham, and Mrs Larry (Joan) Ruch all of Defiance.. Mr Roehrigh enlisted on Sept 5 1917 wand was discharged on Oct 8 1918 at Camp McClellan Al. burial at Brunersburg Cemetery.
