ABRAHAM L. SNYDER OBITUARY

Abraham L. Snyder was born in Fayette County, PA. March 27, 1840, and departed this life Jan. 31, 1906, aged 65 years, 10 months and 4 days. He was united in marriage to Lenah Nickelson in 1862. To this union were born six children, 5 girls and one boy. One son and daughter a several brothers and sisters preceeded him in death. He was a soldier in the civil war, having enlisted in the 16th Pennsylvania Calvary. He with his wife came to Ohio about 36 years ago and located on a farm near Hicksville. At the time of his death he lived in Hicksville, having moved here 13 years ago. During his last illness he sought favor with God and professed to have found Christ. He was a good neighbor. He leaves to mourn a wife, four daughters, four grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers and a host of friends. Funeral services were held by Rev. C. D. Ringgenberg assisted by Rev. Phillips. There are left to mourn their loss a wife, four daughters all married, four grandchildren (the eldest one now in the U. S. navy), three brothers three sisters and a host of friends. Brother Snyder was a soldier in the civil war having enlisted in the Sixteenth Pennsylvania cavalry in 1862. Brother and sister Snyder came to Ohio about 35 years ago, locating on a farm near Hicksville. At his death he lived in Hicksville, having moved here thrteen years ago. During his last sickness he earnestly sought favor with God and professed to have found Christ. We will miss him. We commend his friends to the laoving favor of God and the kind embrace of Christ. HICKSVILLE NEWS
Hicksville, Feb. 17--Mrs. Phoebe Peacock, aged about 60 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. S. Dowell at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Surviving are three daughters Bertha Collins of Dayton, Stella Dowell of Hicksville, Vera Kohler of Boston. Death certificate lists parents as John F. Miller born Indian Head, Pa. and Mary Snyder born Indian Head, Pa. Informant was signed by Mrs. F. S. Dowell.
