DEATH CLAIMS AGED FARMER
WILLIAM MARIHUGH TAKEN BY PNEUMONIA THAT FOLLOWES FLU
William MARIHUGH, 79, Defiance township farmer, died at 8:25 a. m. today in his home about three miles south of Defiance near state road 66. He had been ill about two weeks, starting with influenza which developed into pneumonia.
The remains have been taken to the SMITH Brothers funeral home, where funeral will be held probably Thursday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Brunnersburg cemetery.
Mr. MARRIHUGH was born in Adams township March 28, 1861, son of the late Jonathan and Sarah MARIHUGH. As a small boy he moved with his parents to Noble township and lived there until March 1904, when he moved to his present home in Defiance township.
He married Sept. 7, 1887, to Anna ROHLF and to them were born eight children She died Jan. 5, 1907. About five years later he married Minnie MYERS of Paulding county. She died Jan. 25, 1939.
Surviving are six children: Mrs. Henrietta SCHOELL, East San Diego, Calif; Justus MARIHUGH, Davenport, Iowa; Mrs. Irene JOHNSON. Mrs. Augusta KRETSCHMER and John MARIHUGH, Defiance; and Mrs. Anna COLEMAN, Belleville, Mich. There are 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Abbie W . WAHL, 1024 Charles street and Mrs. Margaret ZECH, Detroit;
He was a brother of the late Mrs. Mary LANTOW and Thomas MARIHUGH of Defiance.
