rancis O. Dome.

Francis O. Dome was born between 16-18 Dec 1869 and died 3 Dec 1938 in Wyandot Co., Ohio. He was the son of Samuel Dome (b. unknown) and Mary Haner (b. Germany)

Some time in or before 1911 he must have started his own grinding and sawmill because on May 26, 1911 he posted a sign (enlargement) indicating the work he performed and listed himself as F.O. Dome, Agt., Forest, O. He then had Chas. Dome take a photograph of the sign and his equipment. It is unknown what relationship Chas. had with Francis.

F.O. Dome, Agt.1

F.O. was buried in Salem M.E. cemetery, Wyandot Co. after he was killed in a terrible auto/train accident about 1:15 p.m. on 3 Dec 1938. At the time of his death he was farming at R.F.D. #1, La Rue, Ohio. His widow was Mamie (Mauller) Dome.

In the photograph to the left can be seen a grinder with grain bag and a circular saw. Both are attached to the enclosed wagon. Francis also used what looks to be a "hit and miss" gasoline engine from the Olds Gasoline Engine Works of Lansing, Michigan. Manfactured in 1904/05 the engine on the skid in the foreground was claimed to be 2 horsepower. The Olds engine housed on the wagon looks to be larger.
