This is from a tintype of the Hempy family members. From the left are William S. "Will" Hempy (b. 1867, OH), Sarah E. Hempy (b. 1860, OH), George W. Hempy (b. Dec 1863, OH), and Melissa Hempy. Other siblings were, Mary Hempy (b. 1835, OH), W.C. Hempy (b. 1858, OH), Alice Hempy (b. Nov 1862, OH), and Oscar Hempy (b. Dec 1869, OH) who are not present in the photograph.

Their parents were William Hempy and Christina (Trissler) Hempy. William was born in Ohio around 1823. He died in 1886. Christina was born in Pennsylvania in August, 1831, as were her parents. William Hempy’s parents were both born in Maryland.

George Hempy married Hattie E. __ (b. Aug 1868, OH). Will Hempy married Eva __ (b. Aug 1866, OH) around 1899. Oscar Hempy married Olive __ (b. Jun 1871, OH) sometime around 1898. They had two sons, Earl Hempy (b. Jan 1891, OH) and Raymond Hempy (b. Mar 1894, OH).
