| Close-Up of the Family |
In the photograph on the left 1 Selby & Nancy Moore, P.D. & Lucy Lehman, Edith Lehman, Jesse Lehman, and Emmett Lehman are in front of what is believed to be the Lehman home in Forest, circa 1890. Note that this was the same year the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in Washington, D.C.
An enlargement of a section of that photograph is shown on the right. Sitting left is Selby Kalbe Moore (1842-1921). Selby was a Civil War veteran serving with the 103rd O.V.I. Standing behind him is his wife, Nancy Ann (Clark) Moore (1846-1926). Paris Dupler "P.D." Lehman (1865-1933), a local grocer, is sitting beside Selby.

P.D. Lehman married Lucy Letitia Moore (1872-1947), the daughter of Selby & Nancy. She is standing behind Paris. Edith Naomi Lehman (1898-1973) is sitting beside her father. She later married Robert Clay Stephan (1898-1965). Standing behind Edith is her brother, William Jesse "Bill" Lehman (1891-1950). Bill was also a grocer in Forest who later married Gladys Dumm (1895-1976).
Another brother, Emmett Glenn Lehman (1893-1922), is standing beside Jessie. He served in World War I and after returning to Forest, died in a hunting accident in 1922 near Forest. He never married. The photograph was probably taken in the late 1890s because Emmett was born in 1893.
Selby K. Moore, the son of John & Eliza Moore, was born in Morrow county, Ohio, September 28, 1842. His brother Amos Moore was a Captain during the Civil War. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P.D. Lehman, on February 6, 1921.

| Charles Moore2 |
The 1930 U.S. Census for Ohio, Hardin Co., Forest, lists a 19 year old Charles Moore, son of Ralph C. Moore and Edna Moore with a brother, Ralph Jr. Moore.
There is no listing for a Chiles Moore found in the 1930 census so the newspaper article is probably a misprint or this was a nickname.

1The pasteboard frame and some of the photograph was removed to make the original framed photograph smaller. William Jesse Lehman was born August 5, 1891 so the photograph was taken sometime in the late summer or early fall of 1891 and possibly at the Trissler home on S. Patterson Street, Forest, Ohio.
