The brother of Thurman, Norman, and Naomi Wright, "Perry" was born October 27, 1909. The photogrpah to the left was taken around shortly after that date.

Around 1914, he had the photograph below taken by the E.R. Krout Photographic Studio.

The photograph to the right was taken c1920 was probably a school picture. Perry attended and graduated from Forest H.S. in the class of 1927.

He always loved his dogs. Sometime around high school graduation he was photographed holding one of his dogs and again in August, 1942 he is shown holding another.

On the back of the photograph to the right was a statement from his mother, "Lawrence says he still has a little hair if it doesn't show. Ha!"

Perry was a brick mason who built many of the block buildings in Forest. He also laid the flooring in the I.G.A. Market in Mt. Blanchard. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army artillery. In this photograph Perry is standing just behind the gun a little to the gun’s left wheel and on the left of the fellow with the scarf. There are two medics standing behind him. It’s sometime in 1943 or 1944 and somewhere in Europe.

Perry was known as the "old man" in his outfit since he was much older than the other members of the outfit. And because of the time he spent with the artillery Perry returned to Forest substantially deaf.

Reunion

Forest held a bicentennial in August of 1954. Perry is shown in this photograph taken during the bicentennial with other Forest V.F.W members. He is second from the left in the back row. Perry Wright died unexpectedly of a heart attack while working on a farm near Forest, March 13, 1965. He was buried in Hueston cemetery, Forest.

Fred & Blanche
Fred Wright

Fred was born in Forest, Ohio on March 22, 1895. He was a farmer who worked with his father, Nathan Elmer Wright. Nathan was an uncle to Perry Wright. He enlisted June 28, 1918 into the National Army at Kenton, Ohio where was attached to Headquarters Detachment, 326th MG Battalion. He was there until October 2, 1918 when he was transfered to the 330th Infantry until he was discharged on Aug 17, 1918. He must have rejoined as he was with the Army Expeditionary Forces between September 26, 1918 and March 11, 1919. He was again honorably discharged on March 29, 1919. He married Blanche Estella Clinger on October 14, 1920. He was member of the United Methodist church. Fred died June 12, 1972 in Kenton, Ohio. He was 77. He was buried in Hueston cemetery at Forest, Ohio.

Blanche Estella Clinger was born October 2, 1897. Blanche married Fred Edward Wright, son of Nathan Elmer Wright and Clara Estella Zimmerman, October 14, 1920. Blanche died January 16, 1963 at age 65. She was buried after January 16, 1963 Hueston cemetery at Forest. As of January 17, 2001, if you do a search on Ancestry.com you will find that they list Blanche with the surname of Olinger instead of Clinger. This is in error.

Norman Wright (1942)

Sgt. Norman Wright was photographed in 1942 while serving with the 123rd Sig. R.I. Interception group, U.S. Army during World War II. At the time he was stationed in the Galapagos Islands.

The photograph to the left with Cappie Caprilla, Pete Lund, Joe Wallace, Mike Lukatch, and Norman Wright was taken in the Galapagos about 300 miles west of Equador, S.A. in 1943.

Norman was born in Forest, August 6, 1917. He, Lawrence Franklin, and Thurman Wayne appeared on the census of April 12, 1930 as sons of Gerturde Young, in Forest Village, Jackson Twp., Ohio. He graduated from Forest High School Forest, Ohio, 1936. Between 1941 and 1945 he was Radio operator in Panama Canal Zone. He was with the U.S. Army 123rd Signal Radar Intelligence Company. He enlisted in Fort Hayes, Columbus, Ohio, April 1, 1941. After the war he operated the Wright’s East End Service in Forest. He married Cynthia Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph Daniel Sapp and Elizabeth Catherine Shannon, December 7, 1946 in Kenton, Ohio. Norman painted a black on yellow 5x3 foot sign which was mounted on the south side of the spotters tower at the high school. He was present at the burial of Naomi Ruth (Wright) Lehman in Rittman, Ohio in April, 1999. Norman died at 9:50 p.m. December 12, 2005 at the age of 88 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky and was buried in in Hueston cemetery, Forest.

Thurman Wayne Wright died that same day at 11:15 p.m. in Findlay. It has been said by those that knew them that it was the first time Norman ever beat Tag in anything.

"Tag" was born in March 13, 1913. He married Martha Jane Schrenk June 27, 1940. In 1963, they lived in Clyde, Ohio. Martha died July 13, 1975. He married Lynette Elaine Barnhart, daughter of Frank H. Barnhart Sr. and F. Mabel (Dennis) Barnhart, April 21, 1979 in Bloomdale, Ohio. Thurman and Lynette were members of the Trinity United Methodist church in Bloomdale.

Thurman died at the age of 92 at 11:15 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Birchaven Retirement Village, Findlay. His brother had died several minutes prior at 9:50 p.m. in Upper Sandusky. He was buried in Weaver cemetery, North Baltimore, Ohio.

aomi Ruth Wright.

Naomi was the sister of Tag and Norman Wright. She was born in Forest, January 18, 1916. She was a member of the United Methodist church. She appeared on the census of April 12, 1930 as the daughter of Gerturde Young in Forest Village. She married Robert Paris Lehman, son of Paris Dupler Lehman and Lucy Letitia (Moore) Lehman, January 19, 1933 in Forest. She worked for Medina High School as a cook in Medina, Ohio for several years retiring in 1972. She died April 13, 1999 at the age of 83 in Rittman, Ohio and was buried in Rittman.
