Russel Price was the son of Henry and Eloisa (Corey) Price. He died October 20, 1926 having lived in Hardin Co. since 1846. He was born in Madison Co. near Mechanicsburg, June 20, 1845.

He studied law under the tutelage of John D. King in Kenton, OH where he eventually practiced for a number of years. He married Addie Backus in 1876.
