Claudia  My ancestors were Frederick Arnold and Margaret Berk (Burke) whom I discovered in 1820 in Wayne Township in Fayette.  Actually in 1820, Margaret was listed as the head of house.  I did not know her husband's name until I came across a document entitled "Apprentice Bonds."  It seems Frederick died and Margaret had her two sons apprentice with a man named Addison Day.  They were only 10 yrs. old (Henry) and six years old (John).  Then Margaret went to Ross County and lived and I believe two of daughters married there.  Catherine Arnold married George Barkley in 1833 and Elizabeth married Savare Hoffman in 1834.  My frustration is that I cannot find a cemetery record for Frederick or Margaret.  Margaret was located in Brown County, Illinois
on the 1870 census with her daughter, Catherine Barkley, but there are no cemetery records for her.  Could you help me identify which cemeteries were in Wayne Township?  Thanks.

J Oldham I have been attempting to research my Kimble ancestors of Fayette County for a couple of years.  Recently, I was able to actually add one generation.

Here is what I have:

David Kimble married to Martha Rose?, emigrated to Fayette County about 1812-1814, from New Jersey.  They went through PA, where they might have stopped for awhile, but I think that their
daughter Mary was born in Fayette County in 1813.
They had the following children:
Aaron, b NJ 1802
Nathan b NJ 1805
Moses
Mary b Ohio 1813

I have probate records for David, which mentions his children and spouses, as well as his widow Martha, who remarried a Terrell, or Ferrell.  David died in Fayette County about 1828.
Aaron married Nancy Snodgrass, and Mary married John Snodgrass.  Aaron and Nathan are both listed in the Fayette County census in 1830.  Nathan is listed in 1840, and 1850, but Aaron and
Nancy moved on west in 1832. They are my g g g grandparents.
I did not find David in the 1820 census.  I did find a George Kimble in the 1820 census, and I wonder if he could have been the father or brother of David.

I know this is a very busy time, but I wonder if after the first of the year you might check the library there to see if any thing is listed on these Kimbles.  Of course, ultimately I would love to find out where in NJ they came from.  I have been contact with many Ohio Kimble researchers, and cannot find a connection to the Kimbles in other counties.
Any info would be so much appreciated!

The Carlson Family  I have been searching for my g grandfather.  It's been a dead end.
I really want to know ANY relatives of his. Especially who he came over from Ireland with or what relatives were already here.   When I realized you actually lived in Wilmington I had to ask.
Wilmington is where my grandfather and G. Grandfather are from.  Would it be possible to see if the court house has any records?  My g.grandf.: Richard Stuckey b:1840, immigrated abt.1853       m:Mariah Copas (she was formerly m. to a Groves and had 3 children who all died of diptheria within l week).  1 child- my grandfather Orlando Milton Stuckey b. 1871-Washington Court House

David Wick One side of my family stops here and I am trying to trace them to Pa.  Is there any plat maps for looking up landowners between 1840-56 in Wash. Court House records.

W West My Grandmother was a Garringer. I have traced her family from Kansas back to Ohio.  David Garringer Jr. died in Fayette County, Ohio on Nov 11, 1865.  He is supposedly buried in the
Cochran Cemetary, New Martinsburg, Ohio.  Would appreciate any information on the Garringer Family, David Jr had two brothers John and Jacob, and four sisters, Sevil, Mary, Elizabeth and Madalenak.

C W Watson I have been researching the Tways, Salmons, Badgers and Willis.  Even though my grandfather George Willis was born in Lawrence County, he lived most of his life in Madison and Fayette Counties and died in Fayette County in 1933.

Alysse Lemery Rasmussen  I'm looking for information on the Funk family ... most especially, the parentage of James Funk, born 1818, in Paint TWS.  His mother is Prudence Washburn was born after 1800 in Halifax, VA.  She was supposedly engaged to Isaac E Funk about 1817 in Fayette, OH.  When he took advantage of her, she broke the engagment and refused to have anything more to do with him.  When a child was born, she supposedly refused to have anything to do with the child, James, as well.  Other stories say that Isaac took the child after her death ... most probably around 1822.  She is buried in Yeasey Cemeter in Fayette, OH.  working note:  Samuel Washburn received land patents in early 1824 NEN1/2, sec 20, T4N R5E of 1st Principal Meridian Accession #   OH0590-157 and  W1/2SW sec 29 T4N R19W of Ohio River Survey Accession# 0H0170-368... He may or may not be a relative.  Isaac Funk is the son of Adam Funk ... and apparently famous (all the Funks) for their bad manners.  They cleaned their act up in IL and became big shots :-)
