FAYETTE COUNTY RECORDS AND ARCHIVES CENTER

201 South Fayette Street
Washington Court House, OH
43160.

740-333-3510
Hours of Operation:    Unknown
Records Manager: Unknown

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10-2, there is an employee of the Probate Court there. She is the Queen of Fayette County History!

Please call prior to any visit. The regular Records Manager was injured when using the stairs that lead to the records office. She hasn't been there in some time. These stairs are extremely dangerous so I warn everyone using them to use caution. There is now a young man, Scott, who is there Monday through Friday but I was told by an employee of the county that he isn't going to be there long. He is extremely enthusiastic though and more than willing to help you. I can't tell you if someone will be there or not or when, so call first.

All of the early records from the courthouse (1800's) have been moved over from the courthouse.

As always, there are costs associated with copying.

Births (2 pages)............................$1.00/page
Deaths (2 pages)...........................$1.00/page
Marriages............................$1.00/page
Other copies....................................$.50/page
Certified Copies......................................$1.00 (addtional)

To contact the center, you can e-mail them directly at fayarchive@fayette-co-oh.com .

Although the majority of the files are from Probate & Common Pleas courts, there are records from other offices.
