Theresa Kidd I
am looking for information about the KELLEY family. Allen KELLEY
b. 7 Oct 1882 d. 1979 and Elizabeth CHAPMAN d. 1922 had children
that were utimately placed elswhere to be raised. I am told that
some of the children were placed in a children's home. Does anyone
know where that may have been? The family lived in Washington Court
House. I am also looking for an exact death date and burial site
for Allen KELLEY. His wife is buried in Washington Cemetery along
with one of their children but he is not buried there. I have recently
found out that Allen's parents were George KELLEY and Nancy FORD.
If anyone has any information on this
family I would greatly appreciate your help.

PRICE, MC COY: In 1861 Alexander Price and Sarah Catherine McCoy were
married in Fayette County and lived in Washington C. H.. Their
first child, Ida, was born sometime in 1862, and two more children were
born, Wm. F.in 1864, and Martha Elizabeth in 1867. Sarah died, of
"lung disease" on 16 Nov. 1868 and Alexander, who in the interim had joined
the Union Army, was left with these three small children. Sarah Catherine
MCCOY's father was James MC COY and her mother, Elizabeth. She died
at age 25 in Fayette Co, in Washington Court House. I discovered
this marriage when I sent for Alexander's pension records from the Civil
War. I would really enjoy hearing from someone in researching the
MC COY line or someone who is related to any of the children. I have
a copy of Sarah's death cert. I would gladly share.

I'm looking for information on several Davis ancestors in Ohio that have
connections with a Hannah Davis (b. approx. 1856 - d. 7/14/1882 in Ohio).
Specific to Fayette County, Ohio:
#1 - Davis, Clara B. - Resided in Washington County Court House,
Fayette County, OHIO around 1850's or later. As I understand it -
she held the position of the Clerk of the District Court there
for a period of time. Clara may be the sister of Hannah's father
- whom I believe to be David Davis.
The other names I do not have information to indicate for sure a
connection with Fayette County - only they were from Ohio. More likely
tied to Jackson, County...
#2 - Davis, David - I believe he was the father of Hannah Davis.
His wife's name I believe was Louisa Davies.
#3 - Davis, Hannah - Hannah Davis was born in Ohio, but I am
uncertain exactly where (born
approx. 1856). Hannah married David Montgomery in (city unknown),
Jackson County, OH on 5/6/1874. Children of Hannah Davis and
David Montgomery:
Arthur Andrew (b. 1874 - Jackson County),
Nellie Blanche (b. 1876 Berlin Cross Roads, Jackson, Ohio),
Maude Mary(b. 1878 Ward Township, Hocking Valley, Ohio),
Grace H. (Jackson County, Ohio).
(Hannah Davis died from birth complications with Grace H. in 1882 (Jackson
County) - city unknown...
Trying to verify that David Davis and Louisa Davies were Hannah's parents. If true - looking for any information regarding them... Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Obituary of Jeremiah SMITH states he was born in Pendleton County, Virginia
26 June 1785 and died 28 March 1886, age 100 years, nine months.
It also states he married Rachel PARRETT in 1803 (marriage bond was actually
1805) and Rosanna BOWEN in 1825. He had eight children by his first
wife, and four by his second, of which one son and six daughters were also
living. It is known that Rachel PARRETT was the daughter of Joseph
PARRETT and Mary
WINDLE/WENDEL. Known children of Jeremiah SMITH by his first
wife were Samuel SMITH born about 1806, died 1878; Rachel SMITH born 1811,
married Jerome DRAIS, died 18 December 1886; Sarah SMITH born about 1812,
married Robert GOLDSBURY, died 22 June 1886; Levi SMITH born 1819, died
1899; and Mary SMITH born 1822, married John COIL, living in 1870.
Known children by his second wife were Matilda SMITH b. 1828, married
David UNDERWOOD, died 1913, and Nancy SMITH b. 1832, married Daniel
WALLACE, died 1913. What are the names of his other children? Was
one of them Elizabeth SMITH who married in 1831 to Peter WINDLE, Jr. son
of Peter WINDLE, Sr. and Rachel WOLFE? Peter WINDLE, Sr. was a brother
to Mary WINDLE, and an uncle to Rachel PARRETT who married Jeremiah SMITH.
James Hershey
I am a descendent of James Hershey of Hardy Co.(now Grant Co.) Virginia
(now West Virginia). James and his family seemed to have went west to Ohio
in the 1860s. My GGrandfather, John Seymour Hershey returned to WV before,
I think 1870. His first two children were born in Marietta, Ohio. James
had at less eight children. These children are what pointed me to Fayette
Co. I found a William S. Hershey and James H. Hershey married in
Fayette Co., 1874 and 1883 respectively. I found an Isaac S. Hershey died
1919 in Fayette Co. I found a Sarah C. Hershey died in 1923 in neighboring
Green Co. All of this may mean nothing, all where names of James Hershey
and
Catherine Trenter Hershey's children. If any can help me piece together
this puzzle, please help.
