I am searching for my mother's father and mother, believe name was Leah and Edward, from Wales. My grandmother died in childbirth, I believe with my mother Violet, who was born July 13, 1899. Her and her three brothers were placed in the Franklin County Children's Home and all adopted by various families. My mother was adopted and left Columbus at an early age and went to Osceola Iowa. Is there any way I could get the records of births and deaths in 1899? I am looking for my mother's maiden name. Is there a log of around 1899-1905 of children placed in the home for adoption? I believe her maiden name was WORTHINGTON. Do you have any ideas? Marion Lundvall

Need documentation on Daniel B. VANDLEN (born 21 May 1827, Geneva, Ontario Co., NY, died 27 Aug 1872, place unknown). His last name may have been shortened from a longer name, such as Vanderlin, because I have never found any other Vandlens in the U.S. According to the family Bible, Daniel was married circa 1847 to Sarah Ann. They had three children: Emma Jane VANDLEN FARLEY (1 Jan 1849, NY), Charles Peter VANDLEN (31 Jan 1852, NY - 22 Apr 1931, Kalamazoo, MI), and Ira Lewis VANDLEN (6 Sept. 1854, MI). Daniel appeared in the 1860 census in Blance, Franklin Twp., Fulton Co., OH. He enlisted in the Civil War at Gorham, OH, on 1 Sept. 1861. He was discharged on 18 June 1862, at Columbus, OH. On 16 Sept. 1864, he again enlisted in the Civil War, at Seneca, Lenawee Co., MI, and was discharged 16 May 1865, at Louisville, KY. It is not known where he lived after 1865. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for descendants of daughters of Frederick PETERSON: Mary SWISHER, Lydia CODNER, and Rhoda STEPHENSON/STEVENSON My request for information on Samuel CODNER and Lydia PETERSON CODNER was generated from the book "Ohio Source Records from the Ohio Genealogical Quarterly". On page 485 of the book, (Ohio Genealogical Quarterly Vol. 6, No. l, p. 500 - footnote) I found the following paragraphs: ** " Franklin Co., Ohio, Marriage Records, Court House Columbus, Ohio state: PETERSON, Lidia married Samuel CODNER 3.7-,1823. Richard COURTRIGHT, J.P. PETERSON; Rhoda m. Richard STEVENSON, June 23, 1807 by Massey CLYMER, J. P. Frederick PETERSON gives consent. Witnesses: Phillip SWISHER, John SWISHER, William PETERSON. The Ohio State Journal reported "married Miss Lydia PETERSON and Samuel CODNER, in Madison Twp. Feb. 7. 1823." The March date of the court record may be the date the return was made to the court by the justice of peace. Page 486 : "There are no descendants of Frederick PETERSON by name of PETERSON known to be living in Franklin Co., Ohio, today. There are, however, many descendants of his daughters, Mary SWISHER, Lydia CODNER, and Rhoda STEPHENSON (STEVENSON). "

There is such a span between William b. ca 1846 and Mary Alice b. 1854, maybe there are other children? maybe John was married before, and William is from another marriage? I also don't understand the "Alice" age 10 since my * Mary Alice was already married to David B. WELLS at this time. Much research needs to be done on this family. I have been unable to find them in the 1850 OH or 1880 ILL census records. Any help from MOORE or GODFREY reasearchers in this area would be greatly appeciated.
