I am researching descendents of William EATON (b. 1797 VT) & Martha Hazelet (b. 1803 PA), who came to Franklin County abt 1832. Of their 10 children, 2 remain in Franklin county:

Orrin Huntley EATON m Sarah Jane Sines 18 Mar 1858 and have the following children: Asher b. 1859, James b 1860 (m. Calliedonia--children Starling, Clarence, McClellan, Florence, Lloyd, Pearl), Charles b. 1861 (marries Lillian--children Zella, Hilda, Charles, Austin Frank), Orrin b. 1862, William H. b. 1864, and Lewis b. 1874.

Mary EATON ROSS (first marriage) m. Daniel BURWELL 27 APR 1856 and have the following children: Josephine b. 1857, Stella b. 1858, Arizonia b. 1859, Amelia b. 1861, Lincoln b. 1865 (marries Alice--children Daniel B., Wilbur, Mary), Ella b. 1868 (married John LeRoy Rawley Wiltrout--children Ora Burwell and Chester Judson), Lesta b. 1873, and Lilly b. 1875.

I just read that there was a city directory from 1840 in Columbus. Does that include other parts of Franklin County? My group was in Mifflin. If so, I would like to know what Eatons are listed in 1840. Thanks. Living in California, the internet has become my link to researching in Ohio.

Would appreciate any help on these lines.

Surnames: BOERNSTORF, HICKEY, WEHRLE
Researcher: Vicky Burns
Email: CWmom4@aol.com
Date posted: Wednesday, March 18, 1998

I am looking for anyone who may have information on this family. It has been a major brick wall for me!!

Frances Xavier WEHRLE died in Columbus, OH. Although I can find no record of that yet. His granddaughter is still living and assures me that he did. This would have been in the late 1800's. I know very little about his early life, He was born in Baden Germany, at some point he immigrated to the US. I don't know if he came with his family, but I can find many Wehrle's listed in OH records, just can't seem to find any linked to mine. He was married to Margerita BOERNSTORF. This was supposedly his second marriages. I am told that both marriages produced a total of 23 children.

(Amazing if he was so prolific that I can find no one who seems to be attached to him, except...) I know of one son: Michael James Wehrle born in Columbus, OH on Dec. 15, 1877. Michael married Margurite HICKEY on June 4, 1902 in Columbus, OH. Michael died on July 23, 1968.

Michael and Margurite had 5 children: Florence Marie, Margaret Angela, Lawrence Frances, Evangeline Regina, and Catharine Elizabeth. Florence and Margaret are deceased but the others still live. Apparently Frances X. died before any of these remaining grandchildren were born, therefore they have little knowledge of him.

If anyone out there can offer any pieces to the puzzle, I would be most greatful.

Email me at Cwmom4@aol.com
Thanks.

I am trying to research my grandfathers family. Earl Cass TAYLOR and Mabel Della ALEXANDER-TAYLOR were my great grandparents; they had 3 children: Jane, Mary Ann and my grandfather, William Henry TAYLOR who was born in Columbus in January 1917. Since my great grandmother, Mabel Alexander-Taylor, died when my grandfather was only 2, little is known about that side of the family. All I do know is she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. ALEXANDER and she had a sister, Mrs. W.S. Pickens of Doniphan, Nebraska. (I'm reading this info. off of my great grandmothers obit.) I did hear that my great grandmothers mothers maiden name was McCULLOCH and she was from Scotland. As for my great grandfather, Earl C. Taylor's side of the family - he was one of five children of William H. Taylor and Etta BARBER - TAYLOR. If anyone recognizes any of these surnames - please get in touch!!
