WOODYARD, CHASE - My GG-grandmother Hannah Chase Woodyard was committed to the State Mental Hospital at Columbus around 1850. Story handed down was that she died in the fire there which was Nov 11, 1868 and the family was not notified until two or three months later. However, her name does not appear with the casualties listed in the local paper. The obit. for her husband states she died in Feb 1864. It is purely conjucture but if the 4 in 1864 could have been a 9 then it would fit that she could have died approx. 3 months after the fire possibly from injuries. Does anyone have access to death records or hospital records that could verify her death and where she might have been buried? There is no indication that the body was returned to Athens Co.

Does anyone have anything on ALLSPAUGH? I'm at a dead end with "J.H. ALLSPAUGH". He must have been an alien from Mars because he has no parents.
The 1840 Franklin County census, in Truro Township, shows a householder named "J. H. Allspaugh" with one male under five, one female under five, and a man and wife between 20 and 25. Can anyone identify this family and name the children and spouse?
The 1850 census of Baltimore, Liberty Township, Fairfield County also contains a "J.H. Allspaugh". He is 37 years old and his (apparently new) wife is 21. He has a daughter eleven, twin boys age ten, and a 6-month old boy. This man and wife Mary are buried in Mound Cemetery, Knox County. He is Joseph Henry and she is Mary Jane Reeder of Delaware County; they married in Delaware County on 15 March 1849. The children are Emily, twins Samuel and Harrison, and infant Henry Clay.
My basic question is: are these the same families (despite two-year or more age error in "J.H." and the missing twin in 1840)? My bet is that they are not the same family because I believe I can prove that Emily was born in Baltimore. But I will also bet that they are related because the spelling ALLSPAUGH is an unusual varient of the more common ALSPACH, etc., of central Ohio. This man is consistant about the spelling, both in the census and on his gravestone.

George William GASKILL, son of John Boger Gaskill and Anna Mariah Miller was born 9 August 1867 in Plainfield, Coshocton Co. Ohio. George has been a real mystery to me. I have found several possible records of him but have no proof which George is right. Have tried without success to find some descendant who could clear this up. If you can help, please e-mail me. eperiman@1starnet.com
1910 Census Ohio, Guernsey Co. Cambridge family No. 119 George is listed as living with wife Winifred, and three children. Don't know this is the correct George. This George was listed as 42 years old or born about 1868,
In the same Census, there is also a George W. Gaskill living in Williams County, Ohio with a wife, Lottie and one Son, Clarence. This George is 44 years old which would make him born about 1866.
George is mentioned as living in Columbus, OH in 1911 in his father's obituary. He is not named in his mother's obituary as living in 1919.

I am searching for information on Horace SISCO born 1 Oct 1819 in Franklin County, Ohio and died 8 April 1901 in Daisy Pike County, Arkansas. Horace married Mary Ann CROSS on 8 Dec 1839 in Franklin County, Ohio. They had the following children: Lewis born 1837 in Ohio, Liza born 1841 in Ohio, Rachel born 1842 in Ohio, Alonzo born 1844 in Ohio, Daniel P. born 16 Aug 1849 in Ohio, Jacob Shanon born Aug 1852 in Ohio, Malinda born 1854 in Illinois, and Edward Perry born May 1858 in Il.
It is suspected that Horace is the son of Peter FRANCISCO and Mary Unknown. They moved to Franklin County Ohio before the War of 1812 from New Jersy and it is thought they were some of the fist settlers to the county.
Any information will be most appreciated.
