Dearest Maggie, My grandfather was born in Columbus, Ohio (Briggsdale) it is supposed to be in Franklin County. I have searched and I cannot find anything. His name was Walter BRANT. I did get his death certificate and it said his father was William and mother Mary (HOLLER) Brant. His date of birth was 3/24/1889-5/8/1963. they lived in the same county we did and I cannot find anything. It is as if these people never existed. Any suggestions? I live in Sandusky, Ohio. I am looking for any information about John A. LARGE, born February 9, 1841 or 1844 in Franklin County, Ohio. He served in the Civil War in Co. K, 8th Ohio Cavalry, August 1864- May 1865. He later lived in Indiana and died there in 1908. He was married to Mary Jane FRY in 1877 in Indiana. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching for my brother & birthfather that I have never met. According to the 1920 census there were a William E. McDonald Sr., wife's name Caroline and a son William E. McDonald Jr. living in Columbus City. William Jr. was 1yr. 4mos. at the time of the census taking. My father William E. McDonald, Jr. was born around 1919-21. Father's name William Sr., mother's name is unknown. I am not sure if these are the people I am looking for but it is the closest I have been able to match any names.

My brother, Cecil Wellsley McDonald was born April 15, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio at Woman's Hospital. Mother's name was Chrystal LEWIS. She was born in Ottawa, Canada on July 4, 1924. My father William Edward McDonald, Jr. was born around 1919-1921. At the time of Cecil's (Billy) birth he was enlisted in the Army, stationed in California. I was born on February 15, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio. Our address at the time of our birth's was Sturdavent Ave., Cleveland. At the time of my birth William was employed at Republic Steel in Cleveland. I have been searching for a long time but have not been able to come up with much. I want so much to find my family, anyone with any info would be great.

Divorce papers filed by Mary W. McMULLIN in Franklin Co., OH, in 1878 indicate that his mother lived in KS at that time. Her name was Helena (Clark) ? (BURNHAM on the death cert).

Edgar married Mary W. UNKNOWN in Franklin Co., OH, in 1870. He left her in 1874. Edgar and Mary had daughters Carie b. abt 1872, and Gracie b. abt 1874.

For George I have this: b. 7 Dec 1848 in Clark Co., OH, to James S. and Helena (CLARK) RULAFORD. m. Martha Jane FORD 18 Jun 1880 in Walla Walla, WA. d. 1914 in College Place, WA. Sons: Cecil C., Burnham S., and Ernest E. RULAFORD.

Could someone please advice me where in Franklin County do I write for a birth certificate for my grandfather Walter Brant. I have written and received his death certificate and was told all births before 1908 would have to be done through the county in which he was born.

I am researching Cyrus BALLARD and his widow, Henrietta Weifel WILLING. Henrietta was born in Germany in 1834 and came to the U.S. in 1848 as a young girl with her sister Theresa Grossman. Henrietta married Cyrus Ballard in 1852 in Pickaway County. Cyrus went to the Civil War and died of smallpox in 1863 in Iowa City, Iowa. There is no known place of burial or reason that he was there. Any ideas? His war records list him as a deserter - sick. I would like to have a copy of the obit for Henrietta who married Frederick WILLING 8-1-64. She died 2-7-33 in Grove City. Also a copy of Frederich Willing's obit. He died in 1903 (no month given) and is buried in Old Grove City Cemetery.

A very distant cousin of mine, GEORGE EDWARD HARVEY was owner of the above company - I believe it was something to do with making paper but I'm not sure. Can anyone tell me anything about this company, perhaps anyone who worked there?

My gggranfather, CYRUS BALLARD was born 12-7-1832. In 1852 or 59 he married Henrietta Weifel who came this country from Germany with her sister Theresa Grossman. Cyrus went to fight in the Civil War and was listed as a deserter - ill and died in Iowa City in 1863. He was engaged in the battle of Shiloh, TN on the 6 & 7 of April, 1862. There is no known place of burial or reason for him to have been in Iowa City.

On August 1, 1864 his widow, Henrietta married FREDERICK WILLING and they lived in Grove City. Henrietta died 2-7-33 snd is buried in the old part of the Grove City Cemetery. I would appreciate a copy of her obit and Frederick's. He died in 1903 (no month on tombstone).

I am researching my great great grandfather William Bonaparte CORY, born June 15, 1827 in Rhode Island, city unknown. He died Nov. 27, 1916 in Truckee, CA. W.B. Cory came across the US in a covered wagon in the 1850s, family history says from Columbus Ohio. He was a cook. W.B. married Mary Ford, a native of Ireland, in Downieville, Sierra County, in 1870. Three children were born: Charles, Emma Agnes and Hannah.

Are there any resources that can be checked to see if W. B. Cory was indeed a resident of Columbus Ohio before coming west? Would really like to know if he came alone or with siblings. I have no further information on him before 1870 when he appears in the Sierra county census as married.

Looking for information on C. Porter Jackson who was born about 1830 in Franklin Co., OH and married Henrietta E. Gilbert on May 21, 1903 in Franklin Co. He lived in Mifflinville, and he had previously been married. His father was Zena Jackson and mother was Rosina Johnson. Henrietta's father was Nathaniel Gilbert and mother was Nancy Ann Rutherford.
