o    To support and encourage active membership in this chapter and the Ohio Genealogical Society.

o    And, in general, to have a good time getting to know each other.

Held on the first Saturday of the month at 1:30 pm, unless otherwise noted. Visitors are WELCOME at all meetings. Meetings are normally held at the Greene County Library, Xenia, in the 1st floor meeting room, unless otherwise indicated with the meeting agendas below.

August 13, 2016, 12:00 NoonChapter Picnic – Held at the gazebo at Phillips Park, Dayton-Xenia Rd., east of Beaver Valley Rd.  Bring a dish to share.

September 3, 2016, 1:30 PMWomen in the Civil War – Catherine Wilson, of the Greene County Historical Society, will address the group in her homemade and historically accurate dress and accoutrements. 

October 1, 2016, 1:30 PMFind Information on Your African-American ancestors – Robin Heise will discuss local resources to find this information.  Some of these resources are little known, but have always been available.

November 5, 2016, 1:30 PMDaughters of the American Revolution (DAR) – Linda Lee, of the local Catherine Greene Chapter of the DAR, will discuss what DAR membership can mean to family historians and explain membership requirements.

December 3, 2016, 1:30 PMChapter Christmas Party – To be held at the Greene County Historical Society building.  Bring a dish to share and an ornament to exchange.  It’s always a fund time.



The chapter has compiled and published most of the known cemetery inscriptions of the county.

Volumes of these inscriptions, plus other items are for sale.
