Jul 09            Fort Lauren SAR State Memorial Service to Unknown Patriot – Chapter Wreath Presented with Taps

 

Jun 09           Flag Certificates awarded to United Precast of Mount Vernon, Milford Church of Christ of Centerburg.

 

May 09          State Society Annual Meeting in Warren, Ohio.  Chapter member, Steve Kelley installed as State Society Secretary.

                   Cadet Senior Master Sergeant Eldon Douglas of Knox County Career Center awarded Jr. ROTC medal.

                   Chapter Color Guard and Horse Unit awarded honors at both the Utica Ice Cream Festival Parade and

                   Mount Vernon Memorial Day Parade

 

Apr 09           Tyler Fehrman is approved as Chapter representative for State Oration Contest. State President Timothy Ward is visitor.

 

Feb 09          Junior Essays on Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address – Combined meeting with DAR – 50 in attendance

                   Officers elected for new term

 

Oct 08          Combined Chapter meeting of Knox and Constitution in Mansfield, Ohio. State Society President in attendance.

                   Attend Ohio Genealogical Society Library and Mansfield Memorial Museum

 

Jul 08            State Society Memorial Service to the Unknown Patriot at Fort Laurens in Bolivar, Ohio

                   Chapter provides wreath, and taps.

 

Jun 08           Flag Certificate awarded to Velvet Ice Cream Company in Utica, OH.

 

Apr 08           Presented Paul Immel, State Library of Ohio, Silver Citizenship Medal by State Society

 

Mar 08          Knox County Bicentennial Banquet, 160 in attendance with 23 historic re-enactors

                   Gen. Knox (Steve Kelley) and Mrs. Lucy Knox (Gwen Wallot) related their lives to audience.

 

Feb 08          Junior Essay on Spying during the Revolution – Combined Meeting with DAR – 75 in attendance

                   Officers re-elected to second year.

 

Nov 07          Grave Marking of Robert McMillan, early Knox County Commissioner, 12 Chapters send representatives

                   Patriot of Ron Workman of Northeastern Chapter. Color Guard, Flintlock Salute and Bag Pipes.

                   State Society Board of Management Fall meeting held at Kenyon College in Gambier.

Oct 07          Four copies of biography of General Henry Knox donated to Mount Vernon/Knox County Library System
