I am looking for information on the BOOTH/BOOTHE family in Short Creek and Harrisville around the 1820's and 1830's. Thomas BOOTH has a will dated Feb. 3, 1841 and probated on Aug. 1, 1842. He was married to Susanna. His children were: John, Isaac, Aaron, Catherine, Ann, and Jacob (deceased at the time of the probated will). Isaac BOOTH was married to Leah ARBUCKLE, and had a son named Joseph BOOTH born in Harrisville. When Isaac BOOTH lived in Shortcreek Township, he owned a farm with 160 acres until 1835.

Found information that shows Hannah Jane BOYD married James P. JOHNSON (aka J.J.P. Johnson or James Joshua Paul Johnson) on 12/8/1836 in Harrison Co. Interested in an 1840 or 1850 census index on this couple. Found a J.J. Johnson and a J.P. Johnson in the 1850 Ohio census index that listed as follows: HRSH-448 and HRCA-364, respectively. Is there someone that could look these up for me, if HR is the appropriate reference to Harrison county? I am particularly interested in locating the parents of these two individuals. All leads appreciated!

I am looking for information on George BROWN, b ca 1772 Ireland, d1863 New Athens, Harrison Co. Married 3 times: to Margaret GILLESPIE 1800 in Ireland; after 1807 to Sarah HOLLAND Tipton (dau of Gabriel HOLLAND); to Elsie Ann COOL (dau of Simon P COOL); Fathered 22 children. He served at Justice of the Peace and as Tax Collector in Harrison County. He arrived from Ireland in 1807 with two sons - his first wife died in Pennsylvania enroute. I have snipits of information and photographs to share with other family members. I would also welcome informationon the families of his wives. (Margaret Gillespie's brother was already in Harrison County when George arrived.

Hannah Elizabeth LONG b-25 May 1859 history has it in Harrison Co. She married Andrew Jackson Dunlap on 18 Nov.1877 not sure where. She died 11 Feb. 1912 either in Harrison or Tuscarawas county. She is buried in Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville. Would like to find proof of her birth, siblings, parents or anyone doing the Long name who might be related. I have her and Andrew's entire line and will gladly share what I have. DUNLAP, Oliver b- 10 Sept.1819 in Tuscarawas Co, Married Matilda JENKINS b- 7June 1818 in Pa. married 16 Nov. 1837 in Carroll Co. Both Oliver and Matilda died in Harrison Co. They are both buried in Tunnel Hill Cemetery. Would like any info on Matilda JENKINS line. I have all the DUNLAP line. CARPENTER, Harry Lewis b- April 1, 1876 not sure where, married to Flora Belle SHIVERS on 19 Feb. 1895 in Tuscarawas Co. Harry died sometime in 1908, place unknown. Flora re-married twice more, last to a Frank PURDUE. She died 1 May 1952 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Uhrichsville. She was the daughter of James SHIVERS and Alvira J. WRIGHT. Would like any and all info on any of these lines. Thanks.

John CARSON born 13 Apr 1820 married 20 May 1841 to Mary DODDS. I have dates on their 8 children. John's father was John CARSON born abt. 1780, possibly Maryland. Married Hannah Rogers, born 1777 in possibly Maryland who died 2 Nov 1852, Nottingham Township. I have the 6 children of this marriage. Need parents and locations of DODDS,CARSON amd ROGERS. Harrison Co. OH and Belmont Co. OH - I am trying to find more information on our George and Mary Ann HUMPHREY CUNNINGHAM family. They were married Nov. 17, 1831 in Cadiz, Harrison Co. Their children were Martha Jane, David (who m. Angeline GODFREY of Harrison Co.), Keziah, John, Robert Wilson, Caroline C. (who m. Wesley A. STEELE of Harrison or Belmont Co. and remained in OH), and Margaret. Mary Ann died about 1851. In the early 1860's the family attended the First Presbyterian Church, Mt. Pleasant, OH (formerly the Presby. Congregation of Indian Short Creek). The family is on the 1860 Census or Pease Twp., PO Bridgeport, Belmont Co. The family moved to Adams Co., IL in mid 1860's.

I am looking for information about the Durbin family from the Adena area. John Presley DURBIN marr. Anna Elizabeth HEATON abt. 1866, they had 12 children and many descendants are still living there. Anna Elizabeth Heaton was the sister of my gr. grandmother. I'm not sure if Adena is in Harrison or Jefferson or both. Any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

George Fisher (1804-1871) m. Susannah Edwards(1808-1841)--they had7 children, William Lewis m. (1863)Amanda Jane Lamb; Mary Ann m.(1854)Preston Hughes; Maria m. Henry Lynn; Martha m.(1854)Jacob J. Mc Mannis; Joshua m.(1865) Amanda Jane Heaton; Rufus R.; Rebecca. Apparently these children were 'bound out' to different families when their mother died in 1841. Looking for any Hatfields that resided in Harrison and Tuscarawas Counties. They originated in New Jersey. Joseph HATFIELD was born 1822 New Jersey, married Mary SEPTIS/SEPTER in 1855 Tuscarawas County. He died in 1896 and she died in 1880 in Tuscarawas County. Their 10 children lived in Harrison and Tuscarawas Counties.

His father was Robert Chaunchey HAWTHORNE b 1886 Cadiz,Harrison Co., Ohio / GrandFather; John HAWTHORNE. His mother was Maude Elizabeth MILLIKIN and GrandFather John MILLIKIN. May have ties to BIDWELL and THOMAS. Robert has a brother Roland and both are living in Florida and any information would be appreciated to go with the life history that Robert is writing. Samuel was born Aug 14 1815 in Tippecanoe, Harrison County to William HESTON and Ann BROCKMAN. Samuel and Lucinda were living in Washington Twp 1850 Census.

I am searching for Hiram H. HOGUE and family member. Hiram H. Hogue born 1854 in Harrison County, OH to Robert Hogue and Catherine DEWITT of New Jersey. Robert Hogue is believed to have been born in PA. Robert and Catherine had five children four of the five are: Pheobe A., Hattie, John, Hiram H. Also, there seem to be variations on the spelling. In a biography of Hiram H. Hogue, the spelling was HOGGE, but land records are all Hogue for that same piece of property mentioned in the biography. If anyone has information on the Hogue family or can do lookups, I would be sooooo greatful to you. Thanks.

James IRWIN married Eleanor JOHNSON 04 Sep 1835 in Harrison County, Ohio. They moved to Van Wert County, Ohio. They had two sons: 01) Charles S IRWIN born ca 1836; 02) Benjamin Johnson IRWIN born 22 Sep 1838 in Willshire, Van Wert, Ohio. James died prior to 1844. Does anyone have any information about the family of James IRWIN ? Does anyone have any information about the family of Eleanor JOHNSON ? Eleanor then married George COPPER 15 May 1845 Van Wert County, Ohio. George and Eleanor moved to Crawford County, Wisconsin ca 1856. John McFadden moved to Cadiz, OH in 1800 from Washington Cty, PA. According to John McFadden's will, George Sharp of Washington Cty, PA was Margaret's father. Where he lived until he died in 1907.Particularly looking for information on both sets of parents, siblings etc. Also looking Hezekiah WOODS (Dec. 22,1828 - Nov. 29,1908) who married a Lydia Ann ? (Sept. 13,1834 - July 19, 1887). Had a daughter Rachel Elizabeth (Aug. 17,1855). They moved to Iowa shortly after Rachel's birth. Any information on their parents and siblings would be appreciated.

Looking for the WEST family. Moved from PA to Ohio c1800-1810. Morris WEST and his brother moved with their father who died on in the mountains on their return to bring Morris' mother to join them. Morris and at least one of his children, Augustine Biggarstaff WEST or Augustus B. WEST (b1800), remained in Harrison Co, Ohio for a number of years. A.B. WEST married three times: Rachel SAXTON, Nancy BRINDLEY, and Mary LEWIS. Children from the three marriages were Alexander (b1823), Catherine (b1823), Morris C. (b1830), Johnson (b1833), John, Benjamin (b c1835), Jabes or Jabez (b c1839), Mary Ellen (b bef 1841), Sarah (b c1842), Rachel (b c1844), Nancy (b c1845) William C. (b c1848), Belle or Isabelle (b aft1848), James (b aft 1848), and Thomas F. (b aft 1848). Most of these children were born in Ohio.

Hugh WILEY I, born in PA. circa 1755?, Revolutionary War Soldier, wife's name unknown. Fathered at least one son, Hugh II. No further information known. His son, Hugh WILEY II was also born in PA, in 1777, and his wife was Isabella MCKEE. They had a son, Hugh III. Hugh WILEY III was also born in PA, in 1812, and married a Rebecca BAIRD. I have no information on the PA county(ies) from which Hugh I, II and III hailed. Hugh WILEY II and family immigrated to Harrison Co, OH, in 1812 and later moved to Perry Co, OH. in 1818. Later generations seemed to concentrate around Shelby Co, Ohio. Can anyone assist in my quest?
