I am interested in finding out who were the parents of Samuel, as well as any siblings he may have had. He is my GG-grandfather.

Am researching MOOREs in Harrison County, Ohio, prior to 1840 and trying to sort them all out. The only positive info I have is my ancestor, Samuel MOORE, says he was born there in 1827 to Albert MOORE and Margaret MCFADDEN and that his parents were both born in Ireland. It is possible (through family tradition) that he was orphaned. I cannot find proof that Albert ever existed. There is a clue in the McFADDEN family line in the county history that a Margaret married a -- MOORE. I cannot find a marriage record in Ohio or Pennsylvania (the McFADDENs stayed in Pa for a brief time between immigration and settling in Ohio). The 1840 census shows a William MOORE (age 70-80) with a male (10-15). Perhaps Albert migrated as a child with father William, was married to Margaret either by a circuit rider minister or in a courthouse that burned down somewhere, and they both died by 1840, or even 1830. He never shows up in a census record by name, or with land transfers, or on a tombstone. Samuel was in the Civil War and I have built quite an extensive biography on him, but I would certainly like to go back further on this line. Anyone have any clues? Thanks, Debbie in western Ohio.
