Looking for info on a Jesse MARTIN born Nov 4 1795 in NJ, who married Elizabeth PUMPHREY (born Oct 5, 1798 in VA) Jan 28, 1819 Jefferson Co. Our Jesse's death record says his parents were Dulmer (possibly misspelling or nickname? for Delmer? Elmer?) MARTIN & Mary DUNN. Did they ever live in this area? Jesse's daughter Mary Ann (born Mar 9 1822/23 OH) married Robert SMILEY Oct 9, 1844 Jefferson Co. OH. They were both living in Belmont Co when they died, Robert in 1901 and Mary Ann in 1910. I believe they were buried somewhere in Harrison Co., possibly in a Short Creek Cemetery. Jesse may have resided in Harrison County for a while before moving to Crawford County OH. The only thing I know for sure is that there were 3 Jesse MARTINs living, all close to the same age, at the same time, in the same 3-county area (Jefferson-Belmont-Harrison), apparently all related, one was a Junior, and a little later there was a grandchild named Jesse MARTIN living with our Jesse based on the children's names. The family legend claimed Jesse either owned or was related to someone who owned a ferry on the Ohio River in or near Martin's Ferry. Any help will be much appreciated.

I am looking for information on the surname OKEANE. It is possible that in the early 1870's that Patrick O'Keane and his family might have lived in Franklin Township Harrison Co for a few years. W Patrick would have come his 2 sisters Bridget and Catherine who were of marriagable age. It is possible that they could have met and married men who lived in the area. The family was Catholic and from Ireland. Does anyone know of this surname in any families that they are searching for? Thank you.
