RAUSENBERGER, ROSENBERGER posted by Marylee Renner on Monday, September 6, 1999

Looking for information on Jonathan Craig ROSENBERGER (or RAUSENBERGER) who was born in Harrison County in 1845. 1850 Ohio census for Harrison County, Green Townships shows a Mary age 37 Born in Virginia in 1813 who is probably the mother. Listed under her were Lewis 21, Joseph 17, Nancy 16, Katherine 13, Susannah 10, Sylvaneus 8, W. Porter 7, J. Craig 5, and Martin 3. The Rosenberger family descends from a prince named Von Raushenberger who left Straussberg (sp?) Germany in the 1600's due to church and religion issues. He dropped the Von from his name so he could disguise himself as a pauper so he could leave the country. We do not know where he arrives in the US but assume Pennsylvania as those in Ohio came from Pennsylvania.

FRISBY, STEDMAN posted by Michael Burnett on Saturday, September 25, 1999

I am looking for information on my ggg Grandfather, David STEDMAN. He may have been from CT or MA and possibly born, ca. 1790. He may have been in the Jefferson Co., NY area, ca 1800. He may have been in the Dansville area of Steuben Co. NY, ca. 1810-1815 or in other parts of westen NY. My gg Grandmother Susan Stedman was born about 1814 in Dansville, according to her death certificate. I believe that David STEDMAN was in Ohio, possibly as early as 1820, though he doesn't show up in census until 1840, at which time there are 2 David STEDMANs in the state, one in Lucas Co. and one in Harrison Co. I do not know which may be my ggg. My local FHC doesn't have the film and I would like to try to ask for a look-up for him. A couple more clue that I might add is that he seems to have return to NY, Cayuga Co. and the town of Ira. At that time, he is married to a younger woman with three young boys named FRISBY. I am guessing that David STEDMANs 1st wife may have died and he may have taken a second wife who may have been a widow FRISBY. Both died in 1871 and are burried in Cayuga Co. NY. Any help would be appreciated.
