ALLEN, BARKER, CHAPIN, CRIPLIVER, HORTON, NORRICKS, WHARTON posted by Ron Horton on Saturday, October 16, 1999

My G.G. Grandfather William Henry HORTON owned land both in Harrison Co., OH in 1841 & in Browns Tws., Carroll Co., Oh from 1832 to 1852. He was first married to a Mary BARKER in 1837 (died 1838-1841) an a Lucinda was born in 1838 & then he married a Mary CRIPLIVER NORRICKS in 1841 who was from PA. & a Isaac Stanley HORTON was born in 1844 . In 1852 Wm. sold his land and they moved to Iowa. What I'm really interested in is any info. that would tie him back to R.I. and who his parents may have been as in an 1850 OH census they had misspelled his surname as WHARTON saying he was born in RI and then in an IA state 1856 census, it also said he was born in RI. In the later his surname was spelled correctly. Am seeking any information on these surnames as well as any other HORTON, BARKER & perhaps any ALLEN or CHAPIN that may have been in the area during those years.
