The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) was established in 1890. It is a non-profit and non-political organization. There are nearly 180,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters in the United States and throughout other parts of the world. Ohio has 109 chapters with approximately 6,000 members. Hetuck Chapter now has 97 members.
NSDAR focuses mainly on historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotism.
NSDAR headquarters is in Washington D.C. and covers a complete block near the White House. The complex is comprised of three buildings: Memorial Continental Hall, DAR Constitution Hall, and the Administration Building. These buildings house the DAR Library, DAR Museum, and the Americana Collection.
