Ernest and Martha Rust Eichner
Submitted by Georgia Eichner Brown
9 March 2003In July 1870 Ernest and Martha Eichner came to Toledo,Ohio from Germany. They settled and had 6 kids, 4 living.
While in Toledo, they attended St Marks Evangical Luthern Church. All of the children were baptised and confirmed there.
I do not know what kind of work Ernest may have done in Toledo for income. I know he was a farmer but the house they lived in was downtown by the Cherry Street bridge. In spring of 1888 Ernest and Martha purchased a farm in Henry co Ohio. I have a copy of the deed.
There Ernest and Martha raised their children and Farmed. They were farming 85 acres of land.
Ernest and Martha were a quiet couple. They kept to themselves alot. Always talked in German, I was told
they didn't learn alot of English. There is not alot of written history about this couple. And not alot of pictures either. I have been gathering information from family members and from Archives.Ernest Eichner 11 February 1847 Frankfort AM Main Germany
