History of Henry and Fulton Counties, Ohio. Lewis Cass Aldrich, ed. Syracuse, NY: D. Mason & Co., Publishers, 1888.

FISH, JOSEPH, Bartlow, Deshler p.o., was born in France in 1853 and came to America in 1855 and settled in Hancock county, O., and in 1864 settled in Henry county. They have had a family of three children: JOSEPH, EDWARD and MARY. Mr. FISH enlisted in 1861 in the 57th Ohio Infantry, and was discharged on account of disability. He is now engaged in farming and owns a farm of 100 acres.

[This was typed exactly as it appears in the book. A portion is obviously missing and the dates don't make sense, unless Mr. Fish enlisted when he was 8 years old, or the missing portion refers to Joseph's father, or the year of birth is in error. JWS.]
