Burton E. Ringle, 78, of 47 Spring St., died Wednesday night at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Hartland Township, he had lived his entire life in the Norwalk area, where he had been a barber more than 50 years, having his own shop at 18 N. Hester St.
He was a 50-year member and past governor of the Moose Lodge No. 1248, a 50-year member of the Eagles Lodge No. 711, and was a social member of the VFW Post No. 2743.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite (Smith) Ringle, to whom he was married 46 years; a son, Duane C. of Norwalk; a daughter, Marlene Allgood of Norwalk; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Paul, and a sister, Odessa Coy.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, where the Moose Lodge will have memorial services at 7 p.m. Friday and the Eagles Lodge will have memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Schwartz, intern pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Chulrch[sic], officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy may be made to Christie Lane School or to the memorial fund of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
