CLINTON H. UNDERWOOD
Clinton H. Underwood, 82, formerly of 74 Newton St., died Tuesday at Willard Area Hospital after an extended illness.
He had been in failing health for the past two years.
Born in New Haven Township, April 23, 1888, Mr. Underwood, a retired farmer and carpenter, had spent his entire life in Huron County. He moved from Fairfield Township to Norwalk in 1948.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Pauline) Kellogg, Elyria, and Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Van Scoy, Greenwich; with whom he made his home in recent years; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Zoerner, Sarasota, Fla., Mrs. Ralph (Hulda) Reed, Fredericktown, Mrs. Walter (Blanche) Wolf, Albuquerque, N. Mex., and Mrs. Annabelle Mills, Mesa, Ariz.; and a brother, Ralph, North Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elva in 1961.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Kubach-Smith Funeral Home, Norwalk, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. P.J. Garcia officiating. Interment will be in North Fairfield Cemetery.
