ELMER E. FRANCY, a son of John Francy, who is associated with the firm of John Francy's Sons & Co., was born April 12, 1862. After receiving his education at Toronto and Pittsburgh he went to Utica, Ill., and became connected with the sewer pipe works at that place, continuing there about two years. In 1883 he returned to Toronto and entered the firm of which he is now a member. On October 21, 1886, he was married to M. Louise, daughter of Evert E. and Kate Taylor, then of Utica, Ill., now residents of Toronto. Mr. Taylor is now the efficient manager of the general store of Francy, Pugh & Co. Mr. Francy is highly esteemed as an active and valuable citizen, and in 1889 the esteem in which he is held by the community was shown by his election to the city council. The firm of which the Messrs. Francy are members conducts one of the largest sewer pipe factories in the valley and the great developement of the business under their intelligent and aggressive business management has contributed in a considerable degree to the advancement of the town of Toronto and the general welfare of the community.
