John D. Grafton


JOHN D. GRAFTON, a son of Isaac Grafton, was born in this county March 10, 1834. He received his schooling in Island Creek his native township and began to learn the vocation of a farmer in early manhood. This has since been his vocation and in it he has achieved more than ordinary success. A life long resident of the township he has many friends and is highly regarded. Politically Mr. Grafton is a democrat. He was married January 21, 1858 to Sarah J., daughter of George Palmer, a resident of Island Creek township. To this union have been born seven children: George P., Elma J., Nancy A., James W., Isaac H., Alonzo B., and Martha A. All are living but Nancy A., who died January 18, 1882 at the age of sixteen years. Mr. Grafton and wife are members of the Presbyterian church of Pleasant Hill.
