Jay S. Paisley


JAY S. PAISLEY, prosecuting attorney of Jefferson County, Ohio, and a leading member of the bar at Steubenville, has been prominently identified witht he social, business and political interests of this city since 1899. He was born in Hammondsville, Jefferson County, Ohio, in 1876, educated in the Irondale High School, the Ohio Northern Univeristy, at Ada, from which he graduated in 1897, and the Ohio State University, from which he graduated in law in 1899, since which time he has been successfully engaged in the practice of law at Steubenville. Mr. Paisley has always taken an active interest in the affairs of the Republican party, has served two years as chairman of the Republican County Committee, and in 1908 was elected prosecuting attorney of Jefferson County. He is fraternally affiliated with the B. P. O. E., the Knights of Pythias, Red Men, and the Maccabees, and his religious connection is with the First United Presbyterian Church. In March, 1907, Mr. Paisley was united in marriage with Nina Vance, of Jefferson County, Ohio, and to them have been born two daughters, Mary Katherine and Margaret.
