The John Hancock Chapter, OHSSAR
Welcome to the homepage of the John Hancock Chapter of the Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. The John Hancock Chapter, and OHSSAR as also part of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, also known as the SAR. We are a lineage society, where each member has traced their family tree back to an ancestor who supported the cause of American Independence during the years 1774-1783.
About Our Chapter
The John Hancock Chapter, based out of Findlay, Ohio and covers Hancock, Hardin, Wyandot, Putnum and Wood Counties. It was founded in 1990. Our chapter was organized on March 17th, 1990 and Chartered on June 23rd 1990 as Chapter #28 of the Ohio Society. We are always looking for new members. Please check our membership page for more information regarding joing the SAR.
Meetings
Our chapter meets at Scrambler Marie's, at 516 South Main, Downtown Findlay. We meet at 11:00am on various Saturday's throughout the year, including several joint sessions with the Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter and Children of the American Revolution Chapter from Findlay at venues including the Findlay Country Club.
