. Lake County has a rich history of religious societies. Historically, a county of mainstream Christian denominations has now diversified to a rainbow of religious institutions.


Ministerial Licenses
To have the legal right to marry a couple, a minister was required to register and be licensed by the state. The duty was delegated to the county probate courts. Includes name, denomination, record date and occasionally original license date. Newly transcribed by Cynthia Turk including all the available volumes.

Broughton-Darling Family Bible
This was the family Bible of Ellen A. (Broughton) Darling. It runs from her grandparent's (Gundry) birth in the 1780's through 1906, and has data on the Gundry, Broughton, Darling, Wilson, Magargil and Cole connections. Transcribed by Jennifer Bernard from a copy of the original.

Miller-Hazen Family Bible
This family Bible is for Edmund K. Miller and Mary Ann Hazen and includes some of the Willougby Carroll family. Transcribed by Phyllis Williams from the original.
